An addition to your contents policy, personal belongings insurance will provide cover for items that you carry with you, away from your home (jewellery, photographic equipment, clothing etc).
You can request unspecified personal belongings cover, where items up to a certain value will be covered automatically without the need to mention them specifically, or
Specified items. These are items of higher value which may exceed the limit for a single item which is imposed on the unspecified personal belongings section described above. Cover for more unusual or specialist items might be provided here also.
Important – you should note that most insurers will impose restrictions in cover and amounts payable in respect of items left in a motor vehicle. Check your policy wording, and exercise common sense when leaving your vehicle.
